I used to read a lot as a kid and I'm trying to get back into it. Will post brief reviews of the books I've read.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

'A Little Life' by Hanya Yanagihara - "Torture porn" is an accurate description, I liked it but only because I'm emo. I can acknowledge that this is objectively bad

'Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow' by Gabrielle Zevin - review on back of book calls it a great American gamer novel. lol.

'The Idiot' by Elif Batuman - revolutionary to write a female protag that isn't intentionally bland af so a majority of readers can self-insert

'Before the Coffee Gets Cold' by Toshikazu Kawaguchi - mid, even boring I don't get the hype

'The Paris Wife' by Paula McLain - seems like something I would have read in middle school and liked and I mean that as a compliment 7/10

'1984' by George Orwell - actually good classic 9/10

'A Court of Thorns and Roses' by Sarah J. Maas - hot asscheeks wtf how does this have 4 stars on Goodreads

'The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter' by Carson McCullers - thought it was boring but maybe I'm just not mature enough to appreciate this

'Annie Bot' by Sierra Greer - I just really like fiction that thematically reaffirms my distorted views of reality

'Nine Perfect Strangers' by Liane Moriarty - mid but learned new word 'loquacious' - talkative

'My Husband' by Maud Ventura - I just really like fiction that thematically reaffirms my distorted views of reality pt 2

'The Catcher in the Rye' by J.D. Salinger - does not deserve the hate Holden's just real af

'Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine' by Gail Honeyman - hot asscheeks wtf how does this have 4 stars on Goodreads pt 2

'Big Swiss' by Jen Beagin - reviews are wrong this is not a funny book but I appreciated how all the characters are like progressive stereotypes it feels like being on tumblr

'Yellowface' by R.F. Kuang - I'm white none of my feelings on this are important

'The Edible Woman' by Margaret Atwood - I would probably like this more if it thematically reaffirmed my distorted views of reality more

'Maybe You Should Talk to Someone' by Lori Gottlieb - therapy is overrated and everyone except me has terrible taste in books

'Marry Him: The Case for Settling for Mr. Good Enough' by Lori Gottlieb - reasonable but if you don't want a father for your kids you can probably keep your standards as high as you please

'Kim Jiyoung, Born 1982' by Cho Nam-Joo - South Korean women have it hard man

'Divine Rivals' by Rebecca Ross - MIDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

'The Perks of Being a Wallflower' by Stephen Chbosky - is there like a shortage of "serious" books for people with a 5th grade vocabulary???

'Pixel Flesh' by Ellen Atlanta - I don't like how dumbed down feminist literature has become. it's not fun anymore. like say something ridiculous
